This axe was deisgned in the late 14th Century for crushing plate armour. The archers on the field of Agincourt, Crecy and Poitiers had a field day using these axes. They were cheap and simple to make and almost every solider of the foot had one of these. They also doubled up as a useful tool for chopping firewood.
This reproduction is hand-made to order and is blunted which means it is safe to use in full contact re-enactments in front of the public.
